Program Coordinator

Job Description

"Upham's Corner Main Street is seeking a self-motivated, highly organized Program Coordinator to join our small but mighty team."

This is a unique opportunity to work directly with neighborhood businesses while also assisting in organizing our yearly events and initiatives that bring our district to life. You'll collaborate closely with the Executive Director, local business owners, volunteers, and community partners to support a thriving, welcoming commercial district.

Role Requirements
Small Business Outreach & Support (12h/wk)
  • Conduct phone and in-person outreach to local businesses and organizations.
  • Build relationships with owners to learn about needs and goals.
  • Conduct basic needs assessments and maintain updated vacancy lists.
  • Share information about grants, public funding, and federal support programs.
  • Organize workshops and recruit facilitators.
Program & Event Coordination (6h/wk)
  • Plan and coordinate UCMS annual events and district initiatives.
  • Keep the UCMS event calendar and website updated.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
  • Coordinate logistics: vendors, permits, and on-site event support.
Qualifications & Personal Qualities
  • 2+ years of event or program coordination.
  • Experience with community-based settings.
  • Comfort with diverse communities.
  • Bilingual (Cape Verdean Creole/Spanish) a plus.
  • Outgoing, diplomatic, and approachable.
  • Self-starter with a positive mindset.
  • Passionate about economic development.
Work Environment
Hybrid Position

An 18 hours/week position located in Upham's Corner. Includes remote work and on-site event coordination for major events like "Love Your Block" and the Holiday Tree Lighting.
